Click on the event to view more information, including the event description, times, location, fees and any rules regarding attendance; you can also register for events from this screen. We all want to help preserve our environment. One of the best ways is to plant trees.

* We will be giving away saplings of native trees and shrubs. You‘ll be required to purchase a tree shelter or cage for a minimum $29 donation.

Tree shelters/cages are designed to help protect saplings from deer browsing, severe weather and lawn mower damage.

Walk in Penn’s Woods, a statewide coordinated event on the first Sunday in October, encourages people across Pennsylvania to learn how their local woods work, see forests in new ways, and appreciate and love the forests so that we can all care well for them.

Walk in Penn’s Woods is for people across Pennsylvania to visit and learn about the forests that enhance our well-being. Forests are always working for us, providing recreation, wildlife habitat, beauty, improved water quality, clean air, wood products, carbon storage, and more.

Pre-registration and a signed waiver are required.

Charge your device with a lemon? Make a flashlight using a penny and a dime?

For grades 2 - 6 FREE*

Students and parents will be guided on a short hike into the woods to see how electricity can be made by using some household items and simple devices.
Then a quick hike back to Old Roberts Schoolhouse where students will build a flashlight using a penny and a dime.

*FREE - Donations to the McKaig Student and Scout project fund will be requested

7th annual Ghost Stories

Geared towards elementary/middle school aged children. Enjoy comradery with neighbors while enjoying not so scary spooky stories, s‘mores and bonfire.

We ask the kids and/or parents tell/read Halloween stories!
