Old Growth Forest Dedication, Hike and Scavenger Hunt - 10am
About this event
A brief ceremony will be followed by a guided hike of approximately one mile.Please meet at 10 am at the Croton Road Trailhead, just to the left of Roberts Elementary School parking lot.
Please wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring your own water bottle.
Long pants and bug spray are advised.

Ninety percent of McKaig’s 91 acres are considered to be old-growth. Selective harvesting occurred approximately 140 years ago and some of the oldest trees are estimated to be over 200. Oak, maple, tulip poplar, American beech, and sycamore are the dominant species. A ceremony will be followed by a guided hike of approximately one mile.
Attendees should wear sturdy shoes for hiking and bring water, bug spray, sunscreen, and snacks. Parking in Roberts Elementary School lot is available on Monday since school is not in session.
Closed toe shoes and suitable attire for the weather to be in the woods for 1 hour. Rain or shine but not wind.
Meet at the Croton Road Trailhead just east of Roberts Elementary School 889 Croton Rd, Wayne PA 19087 where you should park.
