Have you had sacred experiences in nature? Church of the Wild is an opportunity to join kindred spirits in practicing a prayerful approach to being in the greater than human world. We start at the trail entrance near the school, then take a short hike to "the Beach" at trail marker 21 for our gathering. All are welcome.

A Celebration of Old Growth Forests at McKaig Environmental Education Center
A brief ceremony will be followed by a guided hike of approximately one mile. Please meet at 10 am at the Croton Road Trailhead, just to the left of Roberts Elementary School parking lot.
Please wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring your own water bottle.
Long pants and bug spray are suggested.

Join us on Saturday August 2 between 10 and noon for an orienteering adventure at McKaig!
Markers will be placed around the park for you to find using a map and compass.
This event will feature different courses for kids, adult beginners, and experienced navigators.
You can enjoy the courses as an interesting hike or try to compete for the fastest time, running as quick as you can without getting lost.
We will also offer instruction on-site for anybody new to orienteering or who wants to improve their skills
Meet at Old Roberts Schoolhouse next to Roberts Elementary School.

Get ready for a spectacular celestial show! Join us for a Geminids Meteor Shower viewing at McKaig Nature Center on Saturday, December 13th at 7:30 PM.
This year, the shower is expected to peak between December 13th and 14th, and with the moon not rising until after midnight, we anticipate incredibly dark skies for enhanced viewing.
Past years have brought us 18-26 meteors, and this year promises to be especially bountiful!

Registration is required to attend this unforgettable evening under the stars. $10 per adult, children under 16 free
