Exclusive Member Event: History Fife Hike

Step back in time and experience the rich heritage beneath your feet! McKaig Nature Center invites our valued members and their families on a exclusive 2-mile historic journey through our serene wilderness.

Led by Park Ranger Vytas and serenaded by the stirring melodies of local historian and fife player Laura M., this immersive trek brings early American history to life along our scenic trails.

Highlights & Historical Discoveries

• Revolutionary Echoes: Trace the steps of the Continental Army's march to Valley Forge.

• Tales of Rebellion & Liberty: Discover the symbolism of the Tree of Liberty, the Pine Tree Riot, the iconic Washington Oak, and the story behind Berry's Tavern.

• Early Settler History: View the grounds of a historic 1731 Swedish Settlers Farm House.

• Cost: FREE and exclusively for McKaig Members & their families

• Meeting Point: Croton Rd Trailhead (next to Roberts Elementary School)

• Trail Conditions: Expect moderate elevation changes and some uneven terrain along serene forest paths. Robust footwear recommended!
