Perseid Meteor Shower Peak at McKaig

Get ready for a celestial spectacle! The Perseid meteor shower, renowned as one of the most reliable and brilliant summer showers, is expected to peak between August 11th and 13th. McKaig Nature Center offers a dark sky location, perfect for meteor watching away from city lights.

• Friday, August 12th, 8:30 to 10:30 (it's ok to leave early if needed)

• Meet in Roberts Elementary School parking lot

• We'll drive to a nearby optimal viewing spot in a field overlooking the McKaig woods.

• A $10 per adult donation; children under 16 attend for free. Sky map included!

• Pre-registration and a signed waiver are required.

Bring a lawn/camp chair or blanket to get comfortable under the stars.
Don't forget bug spray for the summer night!
