Hi Kishia,
Thank you for the update—15 signups already is great momentum, looking forward to 25.
I've gone ahead and reserved the date for your group:
Friday, April 17thfrom 9:00 AM to approximately 3:00 PM. This timing positions the event nicely ahead of Earth Day (April 22nd) while aligning with the elementary school's bus schedule.
Here's the tentative schedule (we can adjust based on final headcount and any preferences):
- 9:00–9:30 AM: Safety briefing, logistics overview, and gathering tools/supplies at the Old Roberts Schoolhouse (or Old Park Ranger House, depending on the planting site).
- 9:30 AM–Noon: Hike to the planting location, weeding/preparation work.
- Noon–1:00 PM: Lunch break back at the Old Roberts Schoolhouse.
- 1:00–2:30 PM: Planting and park hike.
- 2:30–3:00 PM: Clean-up, tool return, and dismissal.
Regarding lunch: We can arrange catering from a reliable local pizza/sandwich shop that delivers right on time—many groups find this convenient and low-hassle. Does that work for you? Let me know what suits best, including any dietary needs (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.) once numbers firm up.
At this stage, the main thing I need from you is:
- The updated headcount (aiming for ~25, but we'll accommodate whatever final number you have—minimum of 15 to make it worthwhile).
- Confirmation on the lunch option above (or alternatives).
- Any special requests (e.g., accessibility needs, preferred focus on certain activities, or if you'd like a short educational talk on native trees/our nursery).
Feel free to reply here or give me a call at 484-580-9474 if you'd like to discuss details. I'm looking forward to hosting the Charles River team—it's always rewarding to see groups connect with the land and contribute to our native tree efforts!
