Start the New Year on the Right Foot! ?? First Day Hike
Start your New Year's resolutions off right by joining us for our refreshing First Day Hike on Wednesday, January 1st, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM!
Kick off 2026 by getting active and connecting with nature. This guided hike will cover approximately two miles of trails, where we'll explore the winter landscape and learn fascinating facts about the forest, the trees, and the animals that thrive during the cold season. It’s the perfect, healthy way to welcome the new year with friends and family.
To ensure you stay comfortable and safe, we'll also share helpful tips for winter hikers along the way. Please dress in layers and wear appropriate footwear for potentially wet or icy trails.
This special event helps support the McKaig Nature Center’s mission; we ask for a suggested $10 donation per adult, which can be paid at the event (cash or Venmo).
We look forward to seeing you at 11:00 AM to make your first steps of 2026 count!
