Start your New Year off right with a First Day Hike at McKaig Nature Center!
This tradition, practiced in Pennsylvania parks for over 30 years, was officially recognized as a national tradition in 2012 by the National Association of State Park Directors.
Get a head start on your resolutions to get outside more and exercise while exploring the natural beauty of McKaig Nature Center. Our guided hike will feature winter hiking tips and tricks for beginners, making it perfect for all levels.
Enjoy a moderate 1.5-mile hike with some elevation gain. We'll return around 12:30 PM, giving you plenty of time to get home for the game.
This event is FREE, but donations to the Students and Scouts Project fund are greatly appreciated, collected at the event (or via Venmo @ParkRanger-McKaig)

Registration is recommended
Closed toe shoes and suitable attire for the weather. Rain or shine but not wind. No restroom facilities.
Meet at the Croton Rd trailhead by Roberts Elementary School 889 Croton Rd, Wayne PA 19087 where you should park.
